You kan dance....

Finished up yet another can yesterday. Now I finally have three of the new ones painted. Enough to make a skwadron! Now there's just three more to do!

Pro-Tip: Brushes.

Use decent brushes. Try a ton of brushes. No, a Winsor Newton #7 wont make you a "pro-painter", but it sure helps getting those fine lines fine.

Don't throw away old brushes. Use them to basecoat, mix paints, delegate them to dry-brush work, use them as mixing sticks… Just don't do detailing with them when the tips start to hook or fray and wonder why your paintjob looks like crap.

Use different brushes for metallics! Nothing sucks more than to see mica crystals in your non metallic paints.
From left to right: Winsor Newton #7 sz. 0 & 000. Citadel Standard & Fine Detail. Citadel Standard & Fine Detail for metallics. 2 crappy Vallejo brushes used for oil based stuff. Old Citadel Standard, used for paint mixing. 2 soft bristle "art" brushes. For oil based stuff and basecoating larger stuff. Old red GW drybrush. GW small drybrush. GW stippling brush (yeah I know), 3 GW drybrushes in various stages of decline. Army Painter small drybrush. Crappy Vallejo set-brush. Huge GW drybrush.

Adding some veggies…

Some more vegetation needed, I just have to wait for the field grass (the longer grassthingies) to dry and then add some more tufts around them.
Then it's just blending the ground a little more (the patches) and after that... it's ready for the table!

Pinned and ready...

Washed, pinned and ready for priming.

Czech Hedhehog

Some L-beams and plasticard strips arrived today from Antenocitis. Making a bunch of czech hedgehogs for my board. (Some that actually would work stopping a tank. Unlike the ones from GW.)

Ultramarines Venerable...

Finally my crack arrived from Forgeworld.

An Ultramarine venerable dread and a multimelta for the AOBR-dread. Got a bunch of their weathering pigments and the Model Masterclass book as well.

After a brief looking through the book is really nice. Nothing that isn't covered in various places on the internet. But it's nice to have it all in one place.
Another nice thing about the book is that they don't try to pimp their stuff as aggressive as GW does in general. There's a lot of stuff used in the tutorials that isn't GW/FW produced.

Drop pod!

#1 of 2. To transport my precious dreadnoughts. Without the harness stuff it kinda looks like it could fit a dreadnought. I'm so not shelling out £55 just to have the dreadnought one from Forge World...

Honoured Imperium!

Picked these up a couple of days ago. Scenery is so relaxing and nice to paint compared to minis. Weird.
